VACANCIES
The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANRE) is a semi-autonomous College of the Institute for
Environment and Development Studies (IEDS) which is an independent institution aimed
at promoting agricultural sustainability, development and managed of natural
resources in Tanzania. CANRE is currently experiencing rapid expansion in terms
student intake, academic and administrative staff in order to keep up with the
growth, the college calls for employment applications for the following
positions:
1.0
ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCIES
1.1 FINANCIAL AND
ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROLLER (FAC) – 1 Post
a. Qualifications:
·
Holder of MBA
(Accounting) and/or with CPA (T) or its equivalent from approved institution
and at least three year’s work experience.
b. Duties:
·
Receives, banks, and directs proper use of all monies paid
to the College
·
Prepare financial statement of income and expenditure at
appropriate times
·
Controls capital and recurrent expenditure
·
Prepare and answer timely payment of salaries and emoluments
·
Maintains up to date financial on revenue and expenditure
·
Oversea arrangements for the purchase of equipments and
materials (other than furniture) required by the College including their
effective use
·
Oversees arrangement for the maintenance of an inventory of
furniture and equipment held by the College
·
Maintains up to date and transparent Management Information
System (MIS) on all accounts and at all levels
·
Co-ordinate purchase and effective management of stores
·
Ensure the processing and approval of revenue, expenditure
and position control documents, budgets, salary updates, ledger and account
maintenance and data entry
·
Ensure record systems are maintained in accordance with
generally accepted accounting standards
·
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal
c. Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities:
·
Computer knowledge with excellent use of accounting
packages/systems and advanced excel.
·
Experience in the agribusiness industry will be an added
advantage
·
Should prove advance knowledge in excel
·
Proven technical expertise in the accounting and operation
field.
·
Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of teamwork
·
Experience in working and collaborating with various
supplies
·
Ability to handle imprest/cash advance operations and
reconciliations with high integrity
·
Conversant with regulatory requirements e.g. PAYE, Pension
and VAT returns
·
The capacity to be discrete, honest and disciplined in the
management of day to day activities
·
Experience in audit would be an added advantage.
1.2 HUMAN RESOURCES
OFFICER (HRO) – 1 Post
a. Qualifications
Holder of BA and/or MA
(Human Resources or Public Administration) or its equivalent from approved
institution and at least three year’s work experience.
b. Duties
·
Prepare Human Resources Planning and Training Programmes
·
Deal with pensions and terminal benefit schemes
·
Deal with staff welfare matters
·
Assist in conducting staff performance appraisal
·
Ensure that, the offices and premises are in acceptable
standards and cleanliness
·
Co-ordinate guest relation functions (visitor’s travel,
inquires, accommodation)
·
Produces and distribute calendars, greeting cards and
posters
·
Participate in handling protocol and travel arrangements for
College dignitaries
·
Facilitate all internal/external mails/currier services are
timely and properly handled
·
Perform any other function as from time to time be assigned
to him by his supervisor.
1.3 FINANCIAL
ACCOUNTANT (FA)
a. Qualifications
Holder of BBA (Accounting),
B.Com (Accounting), ADA, ADCA/Professional Level II or Module D or its
equivalent from approved institution and at least three year’s work experience
b. Duties
·
Control and
preparation of accounts up to Trial Balance
·
Ensure that all
accounting documents are properly filled
·
Prepare revenue
accounts, schedules and reconciliation
·
Prepare monthly pay
slips for each employee and keeping records and pay-roll registers
·
Responsible for the
remittance of net salaries to the employees respective banks or preparations of
authorized lists for those employees to be paid cash
·
Maintain the employees’ ledger for staff
advances, loans and duty travel imprests
·
Maintain registers for
debtors accurately and up to date
·
Responsible for
banking of all cheques coming into the College
·
Perform any other
duties as may be assigned by controlling officer
1.4 OFFICE
MANAGEMENT SECRETARY
a.
Qualifications: Certificate
or Ordinary Diploma in Secretarial Services from approved institution and at
least three year’s work experience.
b.
Duties
·
To perform routine secretarial duties including typing letters,
minutes, notices, bulletins, circulars, certificates, charts, and stencils;
·
To ensure availability of and effective use and care for
office equipment, materials and essential references;
·
To receive and attend to visitors, incoming mail, documents and
messages and ensure appropriate action for all matters pertaining;
·
To Process, record and ensure attachments to and
authenticate all outgoing messages, mail, documents and parcels;
·
To respond to ordinary/routine correspond and ensure
appropriate records and circulation of flimsy copies;
·
To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the
relevant supervisor.
1.5 LIBRARIAN (One
Position)
a. Qualifications
Holders of Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Library
Management from approved institution and at least three year’s work experience.
b. Duties
·
To
keep current on resources and literature and select publications for the
library's collection
·
To
categorize, prepare and catalogue reading materials.
·
Educate
individuals on how to use the library systems to find the information they
need.
·
To
provide special programming or classes to students and staff
·
To
help individuals find and use library materials and resources
·
To
work with or develop computer information storage and retrieval systems
·
To
oversee the management of the library and the staff
1.6 RECORDS
MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT
a. Qualification
Holders of Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Records
Management from approved institution and at least three year’s work
experience.
b. Duties
·
To provide
documents/files/records as may be requested by users
·
To control receipt and
recording of records and documents
·
To analyze, list and
arrange records/documents in categories according to classification and boxing
for office use
·
To keep and arrange
records/documents in file racks/cabinets in registry/registry rooms
·
To fill records in
appropriate files
·
To keep track of files
by using adopted tracking systems
·
To collect outgoing
mails and ensure that they are posted on time to addresses.
1.7 SECURITY GUARDS (Four
Position)
a.
Qualifications: At least
militia (Mgambo) or police or
National Services (JKT)
b. Duties
·
Supervise the security guards in order to
prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows,
and gates.
·
Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
·
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of
employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain
security of premises.
·
Write reports of daily activities and
irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of
unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
·
Call police or fire departments in cases of
emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
· Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
2.0 TUTOR VACANCIES
2.1 AGRICULTURE
ENGINEER (1 Post)
a. Qualification
A
holder of Degree in Agriculture Engineering or related field along with
relevant skills and potential experience from recognized University with
relevant experience and skills.
b. Duties
Teaching
Ordinary Diploma Students (NTA Level 4-6) at Our College. The Engineer at our
College is the Estate Manager responsible with
2.2 FARM ECONOMICS
AND AGRIBUSINESS (1 Post)
c. Qualification
A
holder of Degree in Agriculture Economics and Agribusiness or related field
along with relevant skills and potential experience from recognized University.
d. Duties
Teaching
Ordinary Diploma Students (NTA Level 4-6) at Our College. The Farm Economics
and Agribusiness is the Farm and Project Management charged with supervisory
role of the farm operations and prctical training in Project Management.
2.3 CROP
PRODUCTION AND MANAGEMENT (1 Post)
e. Qualification
A
holder of Degree in Crop Production and Management or related field along with
relevant skills and potential experience from recognized University with
relevant experience and skills.
f. Duties
Teaching
Ordinary Diploma Students (NTA Level 4-6) at Our College. The Crop Production
and Management at our College is charged with duties of crop production, plant
protection, harvest and post harvesting technology.
